Challenge

Run Your Pool, a legacy sports pools & contests site with millions of active players, struggled with monetization and brand sponsorships. Following its acquisition by a new investment group, the platform aimed to enhance its position in the brand advertising market within sports gaming and distinguish itself from traditional sportsbooks.

My Role

I collaborated with Run Your Pool to shape their strategy for securing brand sponsorships and generating advertising revenue on the platform. I focused on distinguishing their pools and contests from traditional sports betting, emphasizing social gaming versus gambling. To support this, I created a comprehensive portfolio of marketing materials, including audience insights and case studies. I also overhauled the team’s sponsorship creds deck, better equipping the sales team for successful brand conversations in market.

Outcome

Successfully secured over seven figures in brand sponsorship revenue with major brands like Jack Links, Taylor Made, and AB InBev.
